The Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners consists of (6) licensed dentists, (2) licensed dental hygienists, (2) public members and (1) business entity member. All members are appointed by the Governor to serve a term of four years to begin and end on January 1. Each member may apply to be reappointed to serve one additional four-year term. Many times, the sitting member will still be an active member while waiting for their application to be reviewed and reappointed or while waiting for another applicant to be appointed.
